Between January '08 and June '08, I worked as art department assistant / assistant graphic designer on the feature film Bright Star, telling the story of the romance between poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne in Regency England, directed by Oscar winner Jane Campion, and designed by Janet Paterson.
It was an all encompassing role, involving a great deal of research, learning new techniques, using new tools and materials, illustration, graphic design and craft amongst other things. A challenging, fascinating experience.
Below are some examples of artwork I had a hand in:
Repeating patterns made for fabric for the costume department.
Transferring artwork from a book onto fabric.
Finally, this is the bandanna I designed as a gift from production to all the cast and crew on the film.
